First insight: New York City
It's been a long long time since my last post, and the reason is that things have being so intense that I didn't have time to get my ideas organized.
My first few days in USA were incredibly intense. I made, as usual, a strict plan for all 4 days, starting by Saturday. But, everything changed! Starting by Saturday night, where I met my old friend Dorian Goldman at Katz's Delicatessen, one of the oldest places in Manhattan, where we had a very traditional bread with sausage and pickles: terrific! From there, we walked till a Cafe, where we had a great invisible water, followed by a misunderstood American Coffee. That was hilarious! Mathematicians and Physicists can not be together in the same place for more than half an hour. Time to move on. And when I've spotted a beer, the next place is obvious clear. Highway to next bar, we've finished a great Saturday night like a star! Ok, too much rhymes for this post, I'd better to go back to my ideas before I get lost.
After a few beers, and a long conversation passed remembering about our old (or gold) times in France, I realized I was 4 hours out of Brazilian time zone. Body suffered, and it's time to get back to the hotel. Well, no party at all for my Saturday night in NYC...
I got bored on translating to Portuguese, I'm sorry people. From now on, this blog is gonna be exclusively in English.

A weekend in NYC
New York City, the city that never sleeps, as nicely stated by Mr. Frank Sinatra (unfortunately, he has passed away some years ago...). I'm just too tired to finish this post.... I'm doing it tomorrow!
Nova Iorque, a cidade que nunca dorme, como diria o Grande Francisco do Cerrado (infelizmente, ele bateu as botas há alguns anos atrás...). Bom, to cansado por demais para terminar esse post... Farei isso amanhã!

Ckeck-in therapy
Hi Friends! I've been quite busy these last days taking care of the final stuff to travel. Now I'm at the international area of Confins Airport in Belo Horizonte (or somewhere nearby). After an intense marathon to arrange all the documents, many hotel bookings, car bookings, Urban Fish promotions and so on, I guess I haven't forgot anything. The poster is already printed, and I thank everybody at UFMG that I drove crazy to lend me a tube to carry the poster. I have long 12 hours flying until New York city, where I expect to have a lunch today.
These days before could not be so funny without family and friends in Uberlandia (UDI, or HollyUDI, as some usually call it), and unexpected meetings with unforgotten people! The awesome Christmas party, followed by a crazy New Year's Eve filled my batteries, to be almost all spent today in a rainy day at BH without my car. Btw, hey sister, take care of my car, don't crash it (some people already done it for me before...).
It's interesting how nice it is to observe people at boarding room. There are those apprehensive because the flight, entire families with children looking forward to see Mickey Mouse, some Americans going back home with their pictorial straw hats and a sunburn on face (like a shrimp). There are also those who are traveling for work which, interestingly, aren't having that fun to travel abroad.The geeks are ready charging their iPhones, iPads, iEverything with huge headphones and American fashion style. There's also a Dutch man, who already drunk 5 beer cans in less than 30 minutes! Well done! Hope you sit close to the toilets. I've just seen a 30yo Ballantines bottle, I gotta check the price, and then go to the boarding line.

Olá Amigos! Estive bastante ocupado nos últimos dias cuidando dos preparativos finais para a viagem. Estou agora na área internacional do Aeroporto de Confins em Belo Horizonte (ou algum lugar próximo a isso). Após uma intensa maratona para juntar os documentos, todas as reservas em hotéis e aluguel de carros, promoções do Peixe Urbano e coisas do gênero, eu acho que consegui cercar tudo. O pôster já foi impresso, e eu agradeço enormemente a todo o pessoal da UFMG que pus doido procurando um tubo emprestado para levar o bendito pôster. Ahhhh, eu ainda tenho longas 12 horas de vôo até Nova Iorque, onde espero almoçar hoje ainda.
Esses últimos dias não poderiam ter sido melhores na presença da minha família e grandes amigos em Uberlândia (UDI, ou HollyUDI, como algumas costumam chamá-la), e encontros inesperados com pessoas inesquecíveis! A espetacular festa de natal, seguida de um Ano Novo selvagem recarregou as minhas baterias, para serem quase totalmente descarregadas em um dia chuvoso em BH e a pé. A propósito, irmãzinha linda, cuide bem do meu carro, não bata ele (outras pessoas já fizeram isso por mim antes...).
Vocês não têm noção em como é legal observar as pessoas na sala de embarque. Existem aquelas apreensivas por causa do vôo, famílias inteiras com aquelas crianças histéricas loucas para verem o Rato Mickey, alguns americanos voltando para casa com seus pitorescos chapéus (ou chapeis, estou sem google) de palha e a pele toda torrada (tipo um camarão). Tem aqueles que estão viajando a trabalho para os quais não esta parecendo tão interessante ir para o exterior. Os geeks (é, nao tem tradução mesmo) estão prontos carregando seus iPhones, iPads, iTudo (iPin???) com aqueles fones de ouvido gigantes e umas roupinhas de restart. Tem também um holandês que já bebeu 5 latinhas de cerveja em menos de 30 minutos! Mandou bem (sent well!!!)! Espero que ele se sente próximo ao banheiro. Bom, acabei de ver uma garrafa de Ballantines 30 anos, tenho que checar o preço, e depois me dirigir à fila de embarque!

Something from Brazil to USA
I've been thinking about what to share with Americans about Brazilian culture. Of course we have broad music, art, literature, poetry, and dances. But, will them understand Portuguese songs, for example? I guess not. But then, I had a great idea! There's a brand new Brazilian song which was just translated to English, and it will be easy to show them this version. It's the very famous "Oh, if I catch you", from µ-shell Teló! Does anybody know? Did I make a good choice? I'm looking forward for my friend's opinion!

Estive pensando em algo da cultura Brasileira para mostrar aos americanos. É claro que temos uma vasta música popular, arte, literatura, poesia e danças. Mas, eles iriam entender músicas em Português, por exemplo? Acho que não. Mas então eu tive uma grande idéia! Existe uma música Brasileira que acabou de ser traduzida para o Inglês, e será mais fácil desta maneira mostrá-los essa versão. É a famosa "Ah, se eu te pego!", do µ-shell Teló? Alguém conhece? Fiz uma boa escolha? Estou esperando a opinião dos meus amigos!

Bruno's trip
Well, first I'd like to thank everybody that somehow contributed to my trip, either supporting me or sending positive vibrations. The point is that I'm leaving Brazil for two months and, hopefully, landing in New York City next Saturday. The idea of this blog is to interactively show what is going on at Uncle Sam's Land! See ya!
Olá, primeiramente, este blog terá 1 postagem bilingue. Portanto, aqueles que só leram o 1º parágrafo e ficaram entediados, se ferraram! (Eh, eu sei que às vezes eu não deveria escrever o que penso, mas para aqueles que ficam nervosinhos, basta não ler mais nada que eu posto, hehehehe. Simples!). Então, eu quero agradecer a todos que, de alguma maneira, me apoiaram nesta viagem, seja diretamente ou mesmo torcendo p/ o meu sucesso. Finalmente estou partindo do Brasil rumo a Nova Iorque, onde o pouso está previsto para o próximo sábado. Com este blog, estarei mantendo todos informados sobre a minha viagem à terra do Tio Sam. Há Braços!
